Using Template Guides with your router can open a whole new horizon of accuracy and stunning results, unfortunately, most routers aren't set up to accept the ‘standard’ brass guides, Woodpeckers have come to the rescue, with a rugged Phenolic, pre-drilled to suit 20 or so routers, and with a precision machined stepped recess to accept brass template guides, available separately.
Supplied with fixing screws to suit most common routers.
Turn Your Router Into a Precision Duplicating Machine
New version in strong plastic storage case.
Unlike common template guides that come with barrel lengths up to 1" long for specialty jig work, these are designed for standard template routing. Use for pattern and clean-out work, for dovetail, box joint, or mortise and tenon joinery, as well as with lock face and butt hinge fixtures. All guides feature a 5.1mm (.201") short barrel length design to be used with any template as thin as 6mm (1/4") thick. Fits any router or router plate that accepts a standard 1-3/16" outside diameter threaded template guide bushing. For all other routers order universal template guide mounting plates. Set includes 2 lock nuts and 8 guides (Internal Dia. x Outside Dia.): 1/4" x 5/16", 9/32" x 3/8", 11/32" x 7/16", 13/32" x 1/2", 17/32" x 5/8", 21/32" x 3/4", 5/8" x 51/64", 7/8" x 1", plus 2 locknuts.
Butterfly inlays add a distinctively structural sign of craftsmanship to flat surfaces like table tops and cabinet sides. The Woodpecker Butterfly Inlay Template has (7) seven different butterflies sized for projects from small jewellery boxes up to dining tables.
The Poker Inlay Template is the perfect adornment for card playing tables, humidor lids, wall plaques and any other project for card game fans. Two different sizes of each suit are CNC milled into the plate. The small symbols are approximately 75mm tall. The larger ones are 100mm tall.
The Woodpecker Circle Template has (12) twelve different expertly machined hole sizes in a 1/4" thick solid phenolic sheet. This type of template is most often used for routing out holes too large for drill bits that need to have a flat bottom and smooth walls. In addition, each corner is machined to a different radius making for a perfect pattern to round corners.

This tool works particularly well for installing weather gauges in desk and mantel pieces.
Woodpecker Circle Templates are machined from ¼” thick industrial grade phenolic. Unlike acrylic and other plastics, phenolic is not prone to distortion during hot or cold weather, won't wear even after hundreds of uses and is virtually indestructible. The template is approximately 400mm x 400mm.
Unless you're planning to inlay circles, you won't need the inlay router bit kit for this template. Instead you'll need template type router bits. These bits have bearings on the shank which will accurately follow the template openings.
We also have a range of Whiteside brand Template Bits.
When selecting a router bit, pay close attention to the cut length to make sure it's of sufficient length to reach the depth of the hole. The ball bearing of the template bit must always ride against the template. You won't have much adjustability to change the length. You can however put spacers between the template and the work piece if your router bit is too long. Never run a plain shank against the template.
Take the worry out of finding the centre point of your router and drill press applications!
Use our Universal Brass Centring Pins to centre or square your router over your work piece or check for “run-out” or wobble. Pin is double-ended for 1/4” and 1/2” routers.
Note: Pin is a positioning device only. It is not to be run in machinery
This is the kit you need to do both general purpose and intricate inlay work with the Woodpeckers Inlay Templates. It includes everything you need; a brass template guide bushing, nut, offset bushing and 1/8 down cut spiral solid carbide router bit.
Features like these will add that WOW factor to your work, your secret is of course, that it's dead easy.... thanks to Whiteside and Woodpeckers
The large easy to read display reads in inches with fractions or millimetres. The fractions are displayed using “Precise Fraction Technology” which gives you 4 times the accuracy of other fraction readouts. The decimal inches are displayed in .001” increments and the millimetres in .05mm increments.
